The Spruce Grove Saints were burned by the Drumheller Dragons at the Grant Fuhr Arena tonight.

With their 5-2 loss, the team now moves to 15-5 in the 2019 Alberta Junior Hockey League season. The Dragons belted out a steady breeze of fire in the first period of the night with two goals from rookie Kasey Hiemstra and fellow newcomer Carter Belitski. They attempted to continue the heat in the second, but Ryan Peckford, Logan Acheson and Graham Gamache came on eight minutes in to score for the Saints.

The two teams went back-and-forth in the third with three goals coming within ten minutes of each other. Derrick Budz of the Dragons scored before being answered by Ethan Edwards of the Saints and, then, Eric Martin came back unassisted to seal the final game numbers.

The Saints are in action tomorrow evening against the Brooks Bandits at home. The game begins at 7 p.m.
